L.S.H.I.S. (Lithium Specific Heated Internal System) is the foundation of the Innovative Sports heated product line. The components that make up the LSHIS system have been specifically designed to work with all other components in the system, and all of these components are designed and constructed with the highest-grade materials available in the world. There is no electrically powered, wearable heating system that can come close to what LSHIS can offer in the areas of duration of heating time available, or in the target temperature levels that can be reached.
The LSHIS system is made up of four major components:
- 1. A Lithium battery, developed specifically for heating applications and offered exclusively by Innovative Sports.
- 2. A charger for the Lithium battery, developed specifically to charge Innovative Sports power sources.
- 3. Cloth heating elements within each LSHIS product that heat up when powered by the battery packs.
- 4. A regulator to control temperature that acts as a bridge between the battery pack and the heating elements. This allows users to control the level of heat provided to suit their individual comfort, therapeutic, or performance requirements.
Innovative Sports is first into major targeted markets with never before seen products that can be powered by any of three batteries. The size of the battery used in each product depends on the surface area needed to be covered with heat, and the desired duration and temperature of heat provided on a single battery charge.
Charging systems for the IS line of battery packs offer a quick and efficient way to charge the packs from many different power sources. Currently it takes 1-4 hours to recharge a battery depending on the size of the battery to recharge. Each battery will speed charge the pack to 80% of its total capacity within 40 min. After reaching 80%, the battery —trickle charges“ for the remainder of the charging time. This charging structure will allow users in remote areas to recharge their packs to 80% quickly while still not shortening the life of the battery over time. Regardless of whether or not a user charges the pack fully or partially, the quality of the battery pack and the charging system will allow approximately 750 recharge cycles.
Innovative Sports battery chargers can be powered form a base outlet, and a 12-volt adapter found in a car‘s cigarette lighter. In addition, a solar charging solution is available for use in our outdoor/adventure garments product line. These options are also unique to the LSHIS system, and are unavailable in personal heating solution anywhere else in the world.
Our washable fabric switch features two pressure sensitive buttons which can be used to adjust through any of 9 different heat settings. A washable LED is mounted on the switch as well, which pulsates at different rates depending on the temperature setting providing interactive user feedback. This regulator allows for a range of temperature settings between off and 150 degrees Fahrenheit. The primary regulator is designed with therapeutic sports applications in mind. It allows users to set the device to what there own comfort level is, or to what is recommended for a various part of the body. This temperature varies based on the amount of clothing, fatty tissue, or protective padding in-between the garment and the athlete‘s targeted muscle and soft tissue groups.
The hardware in this primary power regulator can also be integrated into the battery pack and then controlled from a textile data bus or (sewn in control unit) This optional component is a pressure sensitive fabric configuration that communicates with hardware housed in the battery electronics. It is an excellent solution for any application and can be fitted to any of the IS product line as desired by the user. This option eliminates the need for a separate control unit to control the level of heat in the garment, by integrating the mechanism its self into the unit. The textile data bus provides true state of the art technology and durability, and enhances all of our products‘ functionality. This unit is also washable.
The internal heating elements inside a LSHIS garment are made up of washable cloth elements almost identical to a piece of felt. Conductive threading makes the elements heat when connected to electrical current. We are able to heat entire surface areas of garments or wraps with this system. We use high performance silicone test lead wire for interconnects in the system that are fused inside each of the elements. This means users have little to no sensation that they are wearing anything other than what they can see and feel on the outside. Our internals are lightweight and thin and like the rest of our components in this system are state of the art. The grouping of all of these four components in this system make LSHIS adaptable to numerous applications with nearly no decrease in functionality.
